Saw Papa Roach Monday with VIP passes.

Since we had VIP passes to the show we had to be at the venue by 3pm. We arrived at 2:30 about 3:30 they came out and confirmed everyone on the VIP list and gave us our sound check access passes.

Around 4:15 or so they let us into the venue. Jacoby, Tobin and Jerry were on stage. Jacoby explained that we weren't actually going to see soundcheck. We in fact were getting to se something they were doing special for the troops overseas. They were performing 3 songs acoustic and it was being broadcast lives via The Armed Forces network to the troops overseas. We were the only VIP group that was getting to see this. They performed Forever, Lifeline, and Had Enough. Jacoby joked around and told some funny stories in between songs and it lasted about 30 mins or so.

After that wrapped up we were taken back outside the venue and groups started filing in to meet the band. We were towards the end of the line. People had lots of PR stuff to be signed. Women coming out with their tits signed and everything. So we finally get our chance to meet them. When we got to them Jacoby extended his hand and asked our names. He introduced himself and so did the rest of the guys. We got to sit and chat with them for a min or so. We told them we were there for our birthday they all wished us a happy birthday, signed our sound check passes. Thanked us for being fans. In fact I told them how I had stopped listening after Infest when they changed their style, but I got back into them again after we saw them live with Avenged Sevenfold. Jacoby joked about how we forgot how awesome P. Roach is but then sincerely thanked us for giving them another chance and coming out to support them and how it means the world to them. We got our group picture taken with them and then headed down to the venue (the meet and greet was on a second floor balcony). VIP members were given entrance to the arena 20mins before regular ticket holders so after the meet and greet we just went down to the floor. We got a spot right at the stage on the barricade. My wife stayed there and I went to by two shirts.

I gotta say those guys genuinely seemto take interest in their fans. They really seemed interested in chatting and talking and getting a few minutes with their fans.

So the show finally starts the opening band Kill Hannah was eh. The second band Morningwood was CRRRRRRRRRRRRRAZZZZZZZZZY. It's a female singer and she is insane. She came down to the barricade and got face to face with my wife and I literally could've kissed her. Then she took the woman next to my wife and started rubbing the womans face across her tits. Later she took two people on stage guy and girl and was licking their stomachs, had the guy take his shirt off. They were all grinding on eachother. She had the guy lay on his back, the singer sat on his crotch then the women (not with the guy) sat on his legs and the singer was all over her tits. Then they fell over and were laying on top of the guy. It was fucking hilarious. So after them was JET...Never really heard them before except that one song that's on the radio alot. They were eh too. Then Papa Roach took the stage and the place went CRRRRAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZYYYY!!!

After about and hour of performance and maybe 12-15 songs they finished up with Into The Light (with the wall of death) and Last Resort. They grouped up took a bow and started throwing guitar picks and drum sticks into the crowd. Jacoby wiped his face on a white towel (he was DRENCHED with sweat), he threw it into the crowed and I SNATCHED IT OUT OF THE AIR!!! That's right I GOT JACOBY'S SWEATY TOWEL!!!! HA!

And now for the pics... I hope.. I took 117 pics but these I consider some of the best.

The first few pics are from soundcheck

Wow, all that could have been summed up like: Went to see Papa Roach, got to watch an exclusive performance before the show and meet the band. I liked 2 of the 4 bands that played that night. It was a good time. Here's some pics

I dunno, I guess it's been soooo long since I've been that jazzed to meet a band or go to a concert. I think meeting a band and talking to them for a minute ranks right up there with talking to a bank teller or chit-chatting with the cashier at the grocery store.

Concerts are lame. I don't care what the fucking band members look like, nor do I care how many other listeners enjoy them. I especially don't care to spend large amounts of money to experience both of those, with shitty live music quality thrown in for the extra lose.

Wow boring lives sound fun too.

It's perspective, I've done what you did so many times now that it's really boring to me. So to me your life sounds boring. But then my life is boring too... "Oh yeah, life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone"

Stupid 80's songs. That's gonna be stuck in my head all day.

I wonder if I'm together enough to go out to lunch and be polite.

Well to me it's a once in a life time experience to get to meet one of your favorite bands. It has nothing to do with them being OMGWTF famous and everything to do with them being awesome musicians and enjoying their music.
