Any IT folks looking for a job

yeah work and a typical day helping people do things with stuff would be preferable to a mind numbing existence as an unemployed person. it's depressing not being a useful member of society

Alright all your stuff has been submitted. Just spend some time reading up on Netapp, NAS, and SAN if aren't already familiar with them.

Unemployment is harsh. It just wears your spirit down.

My good friend has been job hunting for months and can't even get unemployment. He's about 5 days from being totally homeless and has put in applications everywhere.

He should come live in Communist England. We get unemployment as long as we like. In fact in Ireland it sounds like a brilliant deal, I got friends over there who only have to go to the welfare office every 6 months, say they're sitll not employed and get like $300 a week. And their rent paid.

Awesome.

He finally broke down and tried to get unemployment and they said no. He's on his second round of appeals. The black guy that worked that told him that he was very sorry but if he was black then he would have a lot easier time to getting unemployment and admitted the system just sucks but that was the way it is in Georgia.

Wow harsh. I was on welfare for 2 years straight, from the age of 17 until last summer. I got rent paid, council tax and got a weekly allowance. No questions asked and I never had to see anybody the whole time, I just got the money til I called and stopped it.

Wow, that just sounds so..... un-American.

What, supporting people who need it? Giving people a hand out in life when they most need it? Yeah....I love being English. If it wasn't for welfare I wouldn't have been able to get any qualifications and would not now be studying for a degree at a University. Yay for free money!

if kevlar or aratoledar come in here and read that they very well might burst a blood vessel

Well I think the world's a much nicer place when you get helped out when you need it. I would have literally been homeless at 16 if I didn't get the help I needed. Now I can be a 'productive member of society' and pay my tax wonga and such other BS.

And let's face it, nobody wants me homeless, I'm far too cool for that.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying that those are, at the moment, rather unamerican notions. People in the US love to decry lazy people who exploit the system.

Yeah, but to me the whole thought of not giving people money when they have none is completely alien. You're the most developed nation in the world, and yet still you have completely backwards systems in a lot of respects. I think it's the whole fear of being 'Socialist' to be honest, you guys are so anti-commie and stuff, you think if anybody gets something for nothing then your country is turning into Russia. It's quite funny really.
