WTF Amstels Man-Meat Smoking Thread

Mine has the temperature probe for cooking whole chicken. Maybe some day I'll buy a chicken when they're on for $1.50/lb and see how horrible it is.

Don't microwaves usually dry things out? There are ways to counter it....but for cooking it completely, I don't think those counter measures would be very effective.

I don't understand why you would cook anything in a microwave short of reheating something. I think we use ours maybe once a year if that.

It's nice to have the second oven option. Works just like an oven except smaller, it seems.

you counter it by sealing it in a plastic bag & using considerably lower power over a longer period. To me, it still 'rubberizes' food.

Neither good nor bad. It' took about 30 minutes to get the temp down by closing all the bottom vents, and the top on partially.

I need to use about half as much lump next time.

ah. What I liked was that in my smokey joe I maintained about 225 for 4hrs -without opening it- on a handful.

Mine maintained temp wonderfully throughout the cook.
