Last week, MS announced that the drive extender component of Vail, the new version of Windows Home Server, would not be included in the package. This announcement stunned just about everyone as drive extender was pretty much the top feature of the WHS OS.
Now, just a week later, HP says 'Ah, well, fuck it, we won't build shit for WHS 2' and has discontinued their entire Media Smart home server line, and shifted pretty much all involved over to developing WebOS devices instead. More misguided buy in to the 'cloud' contingent of people thinking the cloud is the answer instead of just a more expensive cool buzzword.
You have now seen the beginning of the end of WHS, unless Acer somehow decides to become a decent computing company.
