Active Directory admins...

Did you anger someone and the NT 4 domain is a twisted form of punishment?
Since there is absolutely NO support, patches, or updates for NT4, we have finally started to implement an AD plan that will be in place by the end of the year.

How the fuck do you work for the same company that I do?

We still have some NT4 devices...... :shifty:

We have software that has to be on NT4. We're in the process of having new software created for us, but intellectual property databases aren't designed overnight, and our company is VERY unique in the industry, so we've had some serious problems even finding someone who might be able to do it.

Gotta love business reasons for limiting technical growth :p

I think we have two servers left on NT 4 and they are owned by Sonitrol a security company that manages alarm system, card swipes in a few locations, and ip cameras. We could do that stuff ourselves but none of us wanted to screw around with it and they already did the alarm system.

Well, many ATM's still run on OS/2 Warp or version 4 :fly:

It's not all that surprising :D

Yeah, but when something doesn't really need to be updated until standards are, using a several-year old OS isn't a big deal.
And many times it can be better. We still run WfW on our Citrix clients. No exploits, no patches = easy admining...

Haha, and no-one's really writing viruses for DOS any more

There's no longer any money in it *cough*McAfee*cough*
exactly. if you're writing new exploits for Win3.11 and DOS, you are truly a hardcore and sad person.
