ABC more like All Barack Channel

No but it's proof that the much touted socialized healthcare ideology has clear and devastating flaws too.

If there was a perfect system I do believe that it wouldnt be an issue.

Unfortunately, I dont see healthcare reform as a major issue. You might say it's a practical demonstration of Malthus' theory on population. There's also no sense in trying to "fix" healthcare when you cant "fix" government spending in general.

Everything they try to fix they just break worse.

We're 44th in infant mortality.

We're 50th in life expectancy.

And we spend more per person than the next three nations combined (citation needed)

btw, if you're in for a good read, check this book out.

I assumed in your unquoted reply here (and the story following) that you were talking to me. Was that not the case?

Yes and did you not see the statistics that were included? And who the hell is talking about infant mortality, I'm talking about survival rate of things like cancer.

It's par, for all intents. It's a bad statistic anyway, "Infant mortality in households falling within 25k-50k income bracket" would be a better one. Promoting reproduction for individuals who cant support themselves is a recipe for disaster.

I suggest:

Which is pretty much the same stat I gave, since there are 224 "industrialized" nations.

Really? Most people in the world live on a yearly salary equal to $300...

Just about anyone who has had significant amount of contact with the medical industry knows that you have to evaluate everything a doctor/PA/nurse tells you, critically. It's like undertaking a construction project, you figure out what you need by paying for consulting by any number of disinterested/licensed sources, then you hire out the actual work to a qualified person.

So? Aside from the obvious problems of averaging the fiscal backgrounds of some several billion people; I doubt they have free access to modern western medicine whenever they need it.

I agree with this. However, this wasn't the point he was trying to make once we delved in further.
Well, he WAS replying to me when I mentioned longevity and infant mortality...

ok

God dammit. Infant mortality and longevity are the fucking measuring sticks when determining effective health care.

No... Not when you're talking about survival rates of cancer patients, what the fuck does infant mortality have to do with a cancer patients chance of survival?

I'm simply going by what the piece said.
