Reading The Hunger Games trilogy right now. Not sure because it's on the Kindle but it seems like the books are pretty short, not that I'm complaining.

Anyway I was thinking, and I don't know if anyone knows (ZRH lulz) but was Battle Royale the first with that theme or was it based on something from further back? Most people use Battle Royale as the example for what The Hunger Games is, but is Battle Royale original or not?

She wasn't an especially likable character, and the writing wasn't stellar, but something compelled me to keep reading and thinking about the fictional world in which all these unlikable characters did increasingly improbable things.

Yes, I have. But I instantly forget everything about a book as soon as I've read it. Which is why I own 3 copies of some books.
