Please don't do that to your kid. If you're considering it then theres a fantastic book written by a therapist that just came out about the emotionally stunting and developmental effects it has for children to go to boarding school. Send him for the day to a great private school sure, but don't board him.

Mandatory at the top

Voluntary below.

Even if you had the money, if you send your kid there, it societal abuse. Don’t give that fuckin place one cent, and don’t put them in charge of your kid.

May as well send him to the Immi Home for the Rude.

@Maureen , maybe the bigger question is, where will he be steered through the H.S. years better? Under your foot or their's?

always better under me obviously.
i’m a VERY involved parent with anything and everything regarding his academic life.

i really feel that boarding schools have a bad rep and differ from country to country

this particular school isn’t crazy far from us, 1:15 min north which is like sitting in traffic in toronto lol

this particular school has a PHENOMENAL sports reputation so that’s really the driving force behind this.
We were also considering day schools of course, just sharing the ridiculous tuition fees.

my kid lives breaths and eats sports and writes his own music. this kid can pick up any instrument and go.. it’s crazy.
he is very social (too social) he’s considered a leader and a social butterfly to a fault

just really mulling over our options

He'll have situations that are beyond his skills - girls, friends, drugs, school shit. It's a tough period - try to remember. Being able to face2face is really important. You're trying to help him transition to adulthood. Maybe you're own life isn't the "best" example, but at least you know what the real deal is.
Don't let the important stuff fall to strangers. At times it might make him feel a bit abandoned. Of course you want more me time - it's not quite time for that yet. imho.
Good luck with it sister.

I found April’s spirit tree, and Kiki would enjoy it too!

I had a one hour educational session with one of my staff today to try and learn everything I can about off street sex working so I can speak at a seminar next week. She was going through all the lingo and acronyms. Obviously we know water sports but then apparently there's hard sports. I requested we did not elaborate on this and if anyone brought this up at the Q&A session after the lecture finished I would divert that question like a pro.
