Ontopic The Shooting Thread

The money you spend on weaponry funds the NRA which lobbies to allow this to continue.

Your nihilist "what can we do?" arguments enforce the idea that solutions are unworkable.

The same culture of rugged individualism that feeds these killers allows you to shirk responsibility for the impact of your decisions. This is a society: everything is interconnected, responsibility is shared.

It's no different than the way shopping at Walmart feeds inequality.

Everyone can fuck off with the " mental health" and "whack job" bullshit. Your attempts to other the killers are facile, transparent, and fact-free. Mentally ill people are far more likely to be the victims of violence and it is disgusting that you offer them up as scapegoats. Socially aberrant behavior is not evidence of mental illness. People have always killed people: arguing for access to incredibly efficient tools of killing only enables this.

We have laws against all kinds of antisocial behavior, yet the behavior still occurs. Clearly these laws are worthless and should be scrapped in the name of FREEDOM.

The one thing that every single shooting has in common?

Guns.

You're on the wrong side of history.
Do you have facts or is this only fueled by emotion?

I agree gun control would limit the damage these events cause. The bigger issue the US as a country has (as you’re included in this) is that we raised a generation of pussies. You don’t know how to compromise, deal with people, or discuss your emotions. It’s always “I’m so angry, I’m so angry, it’s not fair, it’s not fair”. Someone has something I don’t so I must destroy it with works and physics actions because I don’t know how to deal with disappointment. The world is against me and it isn’t fair so I must fight agaisnt everything that doesn’t suit my needs. But I don’t really want to work towards anything I want it given to me. And when it doesn’t happen it’s because “it’s not fair”. Everyone owes me.

But in reality I have zero tea world experience and I don’t know shit. The only thing I know how to do is complain.

He's upset. These acts of violence are horrific and heartbreaking. The deaths of young people are really hard to deal with, and people want someone or something to blame, some way to make it stop, some way to make sure it doesn't happen to us.

No that’s just how he is with every topic. He thinks he knows the answer to every problem.

We all are upset. A fix to this problem will be a logical one, not an emotional one.

his reaction was already calculated and accounted for. in other words,...
“sitrep” reads,.. “psyop” was successful on a global scale,..
“gun control-dot-execute” scale up is eminent,.. reveal next target.
-lima, oscar, lima,
-memorial day massacre is a go
-repeat,.. memdamass is a go
10-4?
10-4

at least through my eyes, that’s the reality.

Logic is long-lost when it comes to this and many other issues that are politically charged.

This isn’t going to stop, there will never be any change regarding guns in the US.

"Kids these days amirite."

-olds, forever and always

Haven't bought a gun in over a decade. It was used

How was I supporting the NRA?

Give me a logical reason why poor people shouldn't sell their children as food for the wealthy. Poors get money and a relief from the burden of children, while the rich get a delicacy.

win/win
