FYI UF Money Thread

That's restaurant owners, not us, but I like where your head is at. Your ass is a fine place.

It's not us. You want good service, you tip. Otherwise visiting that joint again will get you blacklisted among the staff.
Wtf. Yes it is you. All of you. You have, for many years, allowed companies to pay people shit wages. You all should be ashamed, but you won't be because you got yours.

I also dislike tip creep in other industries. I'd rather get my coffee out of a machine than wonder how much extra effort the dude behind the register has to put forth to be worth digging into my pocket for spare change to impart on the fiefdom of einstein's bagels.
Fast food doesnt get tips. If there isn't a waitress, I'm not tipping.

I was in a gas station this past weekend with a tip jar. They were also charging for using a credit card, which I believe is against the credit card agreement.

Ahh... Bodunk towns.
I think cash/credit pricing is also illegal. It is in Tallahassee at least. Buncha stations got buttfucked

The one thing I like about cash is that I'm more reluctant to spend it than I am money on a credit or debit card.

Same here. Generally make better judgements about value and worth laying out cash and watching it pile up and go away and looking what's coming my way in exchange for it.

The credit card companies charge those retailers for the "privilege" of running their cards. Every swipe. Signs in convenience stores saying minimum 3 or 5 dollar card purchase are commonplace here....for good reason.
