My health isn't just my physical state. Quiting smoking fucks with your mind something severe. Being already in a state of depression, compounding on that more negativity from withdrawals and we could have a new massacre in the brewing.
There's been quite a few studies linking smoking to depression.

Yeah and if I didn't have a utterly fucked up life, I'd probably believe that was the sole cause. Unfortunately there are numerous sources of depression in my life. No job security, no money, development industry has gone stupid, will never afford a house, my son drives me insane, my wife still doesn't have a permit to work after more than 2.5 years, moved around so much I have no close friends, plus many other things I don't want to disclose on here.
My life is not going to suddenly get better if I quit smoking. It's still going to be the fucked up mess it's always been.
Snoring gives me moments everyday to just step away from it all, go outside and relax for a moment. And the cigarette actually relaxes me no matter what's going on. I could be in a very pissed off mood, and a ciggy calms me down quickly.
Plus I feel that taking away the smoking is taking away the last thing I have left that is me. Everything else has been changed or removed to suit others.
