In CA do the plates stay with you or are the with the car? I remember when I was teenager I sold a car to a Puerto Rican guy I worked with and he couldn't understand why I wouldn't give him the plates. I guess there the plates stay with the car and are just transferred during purchases.

In Ontario they stay with you, not the car.

For your reference, that charge means that somone "drove" the whole 407 74 times. You should get the time period they say these fees were accounted for in and prove them wrong with math.

In florida, you can use a transponder, or just register your plate. They accept either.

The plate is always in your name, you just have to renew the registration
