So I have this thing where I set calendar events, then setup events that will remind me to do steps on my way to the main event. I would like to automate this process in some way. I'm using google calendar via the browser as well as on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. The tablet is totally stock, would prefer not to root it if possible.

I would like to set it up where I can set my event and have 2 additional events created 10 and 17 days before the event, at times user specified. Then the same thing but for 9 and 16 days before the event.

I've not seen a way to do this that allows for the time variable. The main event will be at one time and the 2 auto events will need to have their time specified at creation, or a way to say adjust X hours plus/minus.

Does anyone have an idea for a way to write a script for this? @fly : can tasker do this?

He wants to create reminders to do stuff to prepare for an event. Say you are having a party on the 17th. He wants to make sure that on the 1st he calls over to the brothel and orders a few hookers for the occasion and then on the 7th he wants to remember to call Paco and make sure he has enough blow to accommodate the guests. He wants all this to automatically appear on his calendar when he puts in the reminder for the party on the 17th.

Yeah, Tasker could do that, but it would take some work. Here's a walk through that could help. The important part here is where its reading your future calendar events.

It would take some serious thinking to make it work right, but def could be done.

edit @hawk82 might like this one as it is, with all the driving he does for work.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Because, what's a party without hookers and blow?

I just use Outlook to create singular events (i.e. service call at X client office) and Tasks if I need to do something before that service call. Then sync Outlook Calendar to my Galaxy S smartphone via Google Calendar Sync on desktop PC & Google Calendar on my Google Apps for Business account on my smartphone. Not sure how to spawn child events of a main event. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I have a Motorola Photon, which there's no support for anymore and no updates, so I'm running too old a version of Android to be able to even get the Google Calendar app

When I still had a jerb, I just used Outlook calendar.

You should be using Tasker sir. You're at least as big of a nerd as I am.

I was thinking this also but with outlook sync disappearing I don't think it would be a smart move. I was thinking about trying to come up with a script that I can input dates into and have it fill out the web form. Not sure :/

Takes more than 2 weeks to clear fertilizer. ;)

And this is why I would make a good criminal prosecutor.

"You're honor, I will now proceed to ask the defendant to further correct me on the proper methods of growing activities'

To satisfy the ASA quotient. Thank you for correcting me. I obviously don't know anything about grow ops, so, if I chose to say things down the road about them which are incorrect, please remind me of this post.
