Fuck you every gay ass cereal and general food commercials that claims this.

Commercials and "spin" continue to bother me to this day.... not sure if it's the disgusting heads that give the go ahead to fuck with the public or the dumb ass public that swallows this.

But you are right, those ads have always amused me as well.

Just like my Mazda could do 200mph.*

 medicine commercials blow hard, first half says it will help you feel completely PERFECT no matter what the illness or virus and the second half says it may blow out the following organs

and I want a God damn sneaker commercial to actually show a difference in speed with someone wearing one vs. the other
Just say, buy these cuz they look cool

if you REALLY think about how much of our lives is affected by the big pharms...you'll more than likely end up under a rock from terror. it's all gone terribly awry, so quickly...quick enough for no one to be able to track it all. people end up dizzy and hopeless -- "it's not MY job..."

until real people in real positions are held responsible, you're better off unplugging the tv and making true "friendships" with the people who are paid to care for you. do as much research as you can, listen to YOUR body, consider all alternatives ("alternative therapy"), and ask your doc the tough questions -- would you give this to your father/mother/wife/daughter/son/husband? what things should i know about this drug that i don't know about? what questions do i need to be asking that i don't know to ask? make a list of stuff to talk about, and MAKE your doctor sit and look you in the eye...and have a conversation. at LEAST let him/her know that you are serious, that you are taking notes, and that you are relying on him/her for REAL care and guidance...you're not just looking for some pill to pop.

agreed, all the information should come from a trusted clinician, not the print out, not web md and not the TV

On the flip side of the coin, they somehow have to make back the half a trillion dollars it costs to bring a new drug to market.

that's part of the medication cost which is another story (honestly I have less of a problem with the costs of the meds... its the advertising that I hate)

while meds are on the subject...combination medications imo should state just that... I don't think you should be able to say "Robotussin does not help your headache, sudafed does not help your cough and tylenol does not help your congestion but this does it all" that's because it IS ALL THREE, nothing more than the there chemicals together in one pill and they over charge for doing it

always better and cheaper to get the active ingredients of those thing instead of the combo med which only started coming into existentence when Johnson & Johnson started to panic about tylenol being generic

But the advertising increases sales. Which they need to pay for research.

Ive always been baffled by prescription only medicine advertising.
Do people really go in to the DRs office all like "Doc, my elbow hurts, and I saw on the tv theres a med called "Elbowacillin" , can I get some?"
I mean, really?

"ask your docter if this crap is right for you".

No, maybe I'll trust my doctor to give me what's right for me.

Does Cheerios® cereal lower cholesterol?

Original Cheerios® cereal and Honey Nut Cheerios cereal have soluble fiber from whole grain oats. This type of soluble fiber acts like a kind of "sponge," soaking up some of the cholesterol in the body so that the body can get rid of it naturally. Lowering cholesterol can lower the risk of clogged arteries and heart disease. Additionally, original Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios are naturally cholesterol free. It's nice when foods with good ingredients also taste good.

*3 grams of soluble fiber daily from whole grain oat foods, like Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios, in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. Cheerios has 1 gram per serving; Honey Nut Cheerios has 0.75 gram per serving.

Seems legit. It's a sponge.

i should probably note i do not go to the doctor regularly. last time i went was because i strained something near my sternum and it was making gross popping noises along with a lot of pain.
