Ya, stealing this topic from another site.

I've always thought plastic surgery was pretty damn creepy. I remember watching Taboo on TV and they were talking about African women (I don't remember which culture) that would take measures to flatten their breasts starting at a young age. It included sticks from the fire, rocks, etc. and banging, hitting, and rolling out the breast until it was flat.

Okay, yes that is weird, but not as weird as cutting open the skin and putting a foreign object that is basically a ziplock baggie of your favorite solution then sewing it up to make the breasts bigger.

What's yours?

Yesss to plastic surgery! I don't get the 20-somethings getting botox and shit injected into their faces.

And to add to the topic, I need to think of some more, but one thing is the obsession with celebrities and celebrity news. Can stand how even if I watch say, CNN, I can't get away from stupid celebrity news!

It drags me in too and I despise myself for letting it! No one should care that Miley Cyrus is pregnant. :(

Beauty queen pageants for little kids... that's kind of creepy.

OK, WTF?! Miley is preggers?!

Omgggg, Toddlers & Tiaras! Totally child abuse!

Making fun of other people is the thing that bothers me the most about society. It's like the meanest thing we do for no good reason. I do it too, but I try not to. Why can't we feel good about ourselves without making others feel bad about themselves?

Plastic surgery is just the same as ear peircing or tattoos, I don't understand why you should judge people or see it as taboo if they want to feel more comfortable in their skin or express their individuality.

I agree with eileen - making fun of other people is the worst.

Piercings and tattoos are taboo'ish to some as well. This thread is all based on personal opinion.

Tattoos. They were fine when it was just a subculture thing, but this mainstream crap is retarded.

having a tribal tattoo or a tramp stamp or barbed wire doesn't express your individuality, but your trendiness, and in ten years people will regret them, in thirty they will despise them, in fifty their skin will be ruined... Old tattoos are creepy as fuck.
