You guys have any heatsinks I could use?

I think I need to update the system for my car, and I need a heatsink for that. Any old CPU heatsinks or anything you have laying around?

The other option is that I buy the heatsink specifically made for the ignition control module, but I'd rather spend the money on parts that get me more use.

So, anyone have anything?

I did that once on my first audi. The ignition module heat sink was built into the stock airbox. When I built a custom home depot cold air kit for it I just took a cheap old CPU heat sink, put a little thermal paste on there and zip tied it to the ignition module. Worked perfectly for years until the car was totaled.

Hi p-mid.

Yeah, this is another guy running a similar system (but for a truck engine, not a car), where I got the idea.

I need to find some thermal grease though.

Because they normally use a heatsink. It's a solid state switch that handles a huge amount of voltage thousands of thousands of times a minute, it's physics or something.

What's your schedule like? I'm leaving soon, but will be back at 11AM, then we have to clean before people get here for the game at 4PM. :omy:

I think we're going to pregame, and we have to be at the winery at one. Not sure exactly what's going on, but I will text when I find out
