Re: The Dead Weekenderz Thread

I'm currently watching The Watch.

I played some MechWarrior Online for a couple hours earlier.

It's nearing my bed time though.

Re: The Dead Weekenderz Thread

I started the car, cleaned everything around it, then checked to see if she could move under her own power.

She can.
Now I can't get her to crank so I can back her up.
I think there is trash in the carburetor, and I need to take it apart and clean it.

Move to Seattle so I can come over and "help" you work on your car.

Try some ether first?

Try some ether first?
Actually, good point. I sprayed some down there, no reason why it wouldn't start after that (unless I flooded it)

The GM ignition control module I have in there is somewhat susceptible to low voltage, but the alternator charges.
When she dies it's sort of abrupt, she just quits, I wonder if it's the heat sink not conducting properly...

I'll get on my six-cyl forum later and see if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks

Re: The Dead Weekenderz Thread

Heat sync, I'm unfamiliar with this term. Are you referring to the contacts? My old Ford Falcon had major problems with the contacts.

Re: The Dead Weekenderz Thread

I swapped the points out for a more powerful breaker-less ignition system, the Duraspark II system, controlled by a GM HEI ignition control module. The ignition control module I am using needs a heat sink, like a computer's processor or else it fails to work.
I wish I had thought this earlier, see if the sink was too hot or not.

Re: The Dead Weekenderz Thread

I am giving myself anxiety looking up reviews for a cell phone case.

I got mine in the mail today, and I'm not happy. :|
