We played at Renditions on Maryland the other day.

We started of with practice, everything went well. We were all hitting quite well. One of the guys on our group had the head of his driver fly off about 75 yards. :fly:

So we start playing, 10:30 tee time, and had the next group 20 minutes behind us. After a few holes they're up our ass and playing into us, the group in front of us, a foursome is playing slow. Then it starts raining which compounds the problem of the whole course being wet and kinda sloshy.

Field marshall tells us to speed up, we kindly tell him the group in front of us is slow, and the cocksuckers behind us are hitting into us. He tell cocksuckers to eat a dick.

Everything was kinda shitty, F33nX made an amazing shot off the muddy bank of pond onto the green, and then we got to an island green. I proceeded to nail 3 balls into the water in anger with some of my best shots of the day :fly: At that point we didn't give a fuck anymore. We used "hand wedges", and other such things to have some fun.

Oh, and the greens had been "micro aerated". Which really meant they were covered in dimples and sand

I feel your pain with the punched and sanded greens. It's frustrating and I won't even play when it's like that.

I've had that happen. think it was late 90's. the head snapped off my taylor made metal wood and flew into a pond I was trying to tee off over. :fly:

aerated greens are the worst. the place I play regularly gives a huge discount for weeks after they aerate.

The best part about year round golf seasons is I get the benefit of end of season sales. Lucky for live Hawaii brah.

I carded a 69 (-2) on Thursday. Happy Thanksgiving to me. 5 birdies, 1 bogey, 1 double. Then followed it up with rounds of 78 and 76 on Friday and Saturday. I'm not sure what changed, but I'm really playing well now after a case of the shanks.

Continuing my golf blog:

My handicap has fluctuated significantly over the last couple months. Getting fitted properly for clubs I think was a pretty important step for me. Generally, I thought of fitting as being sort of unnecessary. I doubt it saves an average weekend warrior any strokes. Cleveland 588 cavity backs in 4-6, 7-pw muscle backs. Nippon 950GH x-stiff shafts(soft stepped once). D2 weighted cavity backs, MOI weighted in the shorter irons off the D2 6 iron. Standard length, all clubs half degree upright.

First use outside the range was at a fairly easy course that I've never played before (Friday). I had 4 birdies in the first 7 holes and my opponents wanted to quit the match after nine. Concluded the round 3 under. Not sure how much is attributable to the equipment itself, or just the confidence I have knowing that the set is built for me.

The aspects of the sport that changed the most for me is dealing with rage over a bad shot and throttling my emotions. I haven't had a tantrum. No club-throwing and no more slamming the clubhead on the ground in disgust (I was often guilty of this). I think better temperament comes with having appropriate expectations. Bad shots happen. I am pretty turned off when I see people -- and typically high handicappers -- rage about a bad shot. I'm embarrassed to think I was that guy. People who talk to themselves are also pretty goddamn annoying.

I'm working toward entering an amateur match-play tournament next year just to feel what actual pressure competition is like again. I haven't had any since high school golf and that was mostly just kids fucking around.

Haven't been out this year yet. Need to get on that before I head to nice courses over Memorial Day weekend.
