WTF Another shooting!

DEFINITION: Note: Crime statistics are often better indicators of prevalence of law enforcement and willingness to report crime, than actual prevalence.

I'm not sure how this is a "shooting" like the ones we've seen recently. This wasn't some crazy fuck charging into a room full of random people for no apparent reason and shooting at them like the past two recent ones. This was a crazy person reacting to a situation he found unpleasant.

That doesn't even make any sense, but I think I understand what you're trying to say. I agree if we were going to comapre ourselves to Sudan or Turkmenistan. However, that argument doesn't hold water with two of the most advanced first world nations.

What's Australia and Norway have to do with this? :D

Numbers mean nothing unless they're broken down. What percentage is drug related, what percentage is violent crime etc? We have a shit load of laws so more crimes to charge people with. :D

That's really how you're justifying it? No one has more laws than America. Something like 18 trillion and counting.

Probably. We throw people in jail for almost anything and everything. I'm surprised I've never been... knock on wood.

Yeah that's one thing that sits on my mind while living over here. Though I must say, of the times I have had interactions with the legal system over here, it has seemed quite fair.
