Will it quit it with the 'Star Trek is communism' bullshit please? Just because that form of society happens to completely rock and make logical sense doesn't mean you have to get all cold war on it.
So tell me why it 'completely rocks'

It's not communism, it's a post-scarcity society-- at least for the average citizen of the federation. You never really see this addressed in the shows because stories about content people who want for nothing and have time to pursue their own goals at their own pace ARE FUCKING BORING!
Awwwwwww, don't try to dodge. I'm not talking about that. I'm asking YOU why COMMUNISM rocks. Not post scarcity sci fi.karma chameleon
The uniforms are pretty nifty. So they got that going for them.
so has anyone else here been to a communist country?
Are you aware of what rhetoric is? What I say isn't how I think, it's for effect, theatrics.
I never claimed communism rocked. I claimed you go all cold war on anything that isn't capitalist and the American status quo. You then brand it communist so everybody will think it's wrong because you've been brainwashed to think certain words are 'dirty'. The current dirty word is 'socialism', which you like to attribute to any country that does anything that America doesn't agree with in the Western world (whilst doing worse things anyway but hey ho).
i drank some communist rum last night. it tasted like proletariat tears. delicious.
I went to eastern Europe in the 80s.
Star Trek blahI went to Betazed for my last vaca, it was cool but I got no privacy.
It's no different to 2012. So...what was eastern europe like when you were 4?
I was 8. It was okay. At that age I didn't grasp the nuances of communism. It was weird when our bus got stopped and soldiers with assault rifles came on board asking for papers. But then they left and I went back to not caring. Life isn't as dark in childhood.
Soldiers with guns come on at most countries borders, not just communist ones. The French police are a bit scary, come on trains with german shepherds and rifles and sh*t. Like anyone wants to emigrate to a sh*thole like France anyways.
