Stop your research, just get a harmony. I've had the 880, 890, and 1000. They're all awesome, except the 1000. Touchscreens are a bad idea for remotes. Currently own the 890. It controls the TV, receiver, xbox, cable box, and HTPC.

I'm not sure I'm willing to pay $300 for a little bit of convenience. It does look like a cool remote though.

I've been thinking about getting a remote that does lots because I too am tired of 4 remotes. What kind of research did you do first? What do you have it controlling?
No research on this particular model. I've set up other Harmony remotes for clients before, so I know they are pretty easy to use. This one I picked up yesterday at Sam's Club for $45.00 on a spur of the moment purchase. The Harmony controls an old Sony 27" TV, an old RCA A/V Receiver, DirecTV SD Receiver, WD Live TV Plus Media Player, and an LG DVD player. (waiting until I purchase a house before I spend $$$ on new TV/electronics) Only issue I'm having is getting the remote to switch to a different input on the A/V receiver when I want to watch streaming TV on the WD media player. I've told it to use the right input and also trained the original A/V receiver remote to the Harmony, but it still doesn't switch to the right input. Other than that, watching TV with one button turning on the TV, A/V Receiver, and DirecTV receiver works perfectly.

I'm curious to find out how much battery life I'll get out of the Harmony.

Our Harmony One remote lasts about two weeks before I have to put it overnight on the charger. No biggy, though, as you can configure a slideshow to rotate while it's charging. I have pictures of pretty men rotate on it.

I just use the remotes that come with the device.

My Brighthouse remote also integrates my TV & Receiver just fine. For almost 90% of what I need the remote for, the cable remote does it.

If I need some specialty fine tuning, which is rare, I just grab the remote for the device in question.

The 600 uses two standard AA batteries. Though I do have some Energizer NiMH batteries I could use in it.
