TNG coming to Blu-ray next year. This may convince me to buy a Blu-ray player. The Okuda's are acting as consultants to redo the movies in Blu-ray format. They're going back to the old master tapes and cleaning up audio/video, and transferring to Blu-ray. None of that DVD to Blu-ray shit. I hope.

completely depends on what it is. i'm at the age where most software if it's reasonable and i use it alot i can afford it. if it's a one time use thing i can probably get by with a free version. if it's something else then usenet. run it all in vmware.

also, i got win7 by sending fly nudes.

This. All of it.

I'll never pay for photoshop. Spending 500 dollars on a single application is retarded. Fair enough for a business environment, but for home use, no.

Games, I pay for. Music, I mostly pay for (like 96%). Software that I use a lot, I pay for, like Windows. If I just use it a bit, or the free version is so striped of features that I don't know how the full version will work, then I crack it and test drive it.

A lot of that stuff has a FOSS equivalent. For PS, Paint .Net gets close enough for what I do...

I've tried them and it really doesn't cut it. Sure if you want to write text, crop or resize, but if you want to work with a lot of layers with tons of effects, those just wont do it for me. Plus I still use PS7. No need to get a newer one as 7 does everything I need.

There are plugins for just about everything that PS does. However, it does take some getting used to...
