mine's 10 years old and it's a condo. I proved you all completely wrong. the place has been flawless. :D
You better knock on wood. Last night on Holmes on Homes, this lady lived in her brand new condo for three years up north and couldn't figure out why the heating bill was so expensive and why the house was creating huge icicles... come to find out the builder did not put insulation in anywhere in the house.

Sometimes you can't see what you're getting into and I still think you're silly for not getting one.
who didnt get a house inspected? is that even legal?

WAW.

I agree....

Opps on state abbreviation screw up. Now I have to invent a time machine so I can go back in time and punch an elementary teacher in the face for slacking off. I'm going for the old bitch I had in 3rd grade even if it wasn't her fault.

Come to Florida. We're shopping for a second house now. They are new and cheap as fuck. I've obviously spent too much time here with ChikkenBeaver...

Probably already tons of IT consulting companies down there. It'd be hard to break into that environment. I still doubt I could get a mortgage for a home in Fl, except in the shady neighborhoods

Florida is cheap-- it's foreclosure nation down here. :hs:

banks quit foreclosing is the issue. when markets pick back up, lots of people will be asked to refinance for another 30 years to cover 2 years of missed payments, others will be foreclosed on at that point and the home will be sold at market value.

fact is having someone live in a house for free costs the bank a lot less than them having to maintain an unsold empty property.

Out of sheer curiosity, where would one look for a decent place to live in Fl? I'd like to see if any homes would be in my price range. What my dollar gets me down there.

As far as a good deal.... We live in West Tampa (aka Town & Country)... Oldsmar (west of Tampa) is pretty nice too.

Westchase and South/North Tampa are pretty expensive.
