House hunting sucks. Either the places are dumps (like no amount of money could fix them up) or they're quarter million dollar+ mansions that I can't possibly afford. :|
Searching online, driving around, and talking with clients (one of which is a realtor). Housing market is so crappy right now. It appears most people up here are staying in their homes and apparently can keep up with their mortgages. I've only found a handful that are short sales or foreclosures. Getting frustrated :(

Come to Florida. We're shopping for a second house now. They are new and cheap as fuck. I've obviously spent too much time here with ChikkenBeaver...

I feel that you are going to back out of this in a moment...

I find World War Z to be incredibly dull. I've all but given up on it.

While reading that book, I always thought a funny (real life) scenario would be humans eventually wipe themselves out. Years from now, aliens find the Earth. The only history book they find is World War Z and assume that zombies killed us all.

Its funnier in my head.

love it

Nah, I think about buying more property all the time. I recently learned that you can pick up an unpdated 2br condo within walking distance of the beach in southern Italy for less than 200K and I really think that sounds awesome.

If you get a second home and plan on renting it out look into what a management company will charge to rent it for you. You 'll make a little less but you don't have to put up with hair pulling bs and the management company will take on the responsibility of chasing down dead beat renters. My inlaws manage tons and tons of properties here.

Yeah, we have a management company for the other property we own and they are great. They do take 8% I think but we never have to think about it. There's no middle of the night "my toilet doesn't work" kind of phone calls. They screen our renters for us and we've never had a problem with receiving payment (well once but the renter was in Iraq at the time so you give them a break), and they maintain an escrow account for us so we always have the money to pay the condo association fees and property taxes (there's no mortgage on this property). It's really convenient and I would never do it any other way. We had a company that did the same for us when we lived in Ohio and rented out our place here in Maryland.

A group of conservative Christians set out to block El Paso, Texas, from granting health-care benefits to same-sex partners of city-government employees. But the ballot measure they helped pass in November may also end up stripping benefits from others, including retired policemen and firefighters.

Given the state of Texas' education system, it isn't a surprise the voters and/or the bill makers didn't read it.

Mitt Romney passed Obama care for his state, before Obamacare came into existence.

As soon as a Democrat said 'Oh, hey', Romney no longer felt it was something good enough for the rest of america.
