The reality is someone is going to get screwed, it's just a matter of who. When situations are this messed up, they can't be set to right without someone losing something... right now nobody wants to lose anything, in fact there are those who are still trying to get more. It's an impossible situation.
I just want more bagels. I don't think that is too much to ask.
I have cinnamon raisin bagels right here!! Come on over!!!
amstel has no idea how business works...amazing
tax breaks do not create jobs
Really? I didn't know profit wasn't part of the equation. According to you, as long as people want it, just crank it out - even at a loss. demand baby, DEMAND!

Okay, but I gotta stop at Onno's on the way, he has promised me cake.
When you're in a recession, increasing spending only exacerbates the length of the recovery. This is why we're moving at a snails pace. The way Obama is doing this no one will ever feel a repairing economy. Getting a cost of living pay raise is clearly more income, clearly higher pay, but you'd never know it because you're never getting ahead. Your boss can still say you're earning more than last year, and the year before, and claim his company is sacrificing so you can be paid but it's meaningless if you're not getting ahead.
Two things need to be done at kitchen tables and in Washington when there's a recession, reduce expenses and increase income. Obama doubling down over and over is like the guy at the blackjack table that has lost 5 times in a row, going from a $5 bet to $10, then, $20, $40, $80, and now wants to bet $160 because of course the odds will eventually be on his side.
The problem in Washington is they're they're telling you what you want to hear, not what's actually going on, then they're gambling with your money. And so far, no one accept Washingtonians are seeing it pay off. Sounds like a bunch of lawyers cashing in at their clients expense.
profit is part of it, of course. you only said profit however. tons of companies make enormous profits but that alone doesn't create jobs which means you were wrong as usual.
there is no content here whatsoever except the ramblings of someone who likes the sound of their own voice.
I dunno I agree with the "reduce expenses and increase income" part. That's common sense isn't it?
LOFL. the only reason to create a job is to create profit - this leads to returns for the shareholder and increased income for the employees. ANYTHING else is charity. which means you are wrong as usual. just like your previous 2 posts were. econ 101.
Yes, it is a very good idea. Everyone can agree on that. We just can't agree on how.
the new hire act...meh, I started doing it for my company... look how well that turned out.the "tax break" we got for our new hire last year: we didn't pay the employment taxes on her salary for a few months. It really amounted to nothing. It's like being penny wise and pound foolish.
