Did you guys even read the description?

I read the whole thing. There's just something wrong with paying that kind of money for a modded four-banger that every dick and harry throws in to a 240sx. And sure, you can get 30mpg when you lug it around town. but when I'm shopping for a $60-80k for a car, who gives a shit about fuel costs? He should have at least stuck with a straight six like the RB25DET, which he specifically avoided.

or gone with an ls2/6 with t-56. that combo was good for over 30mpg on the hwy in 6th gear in cruise going 80mph in the Z06 as you likely know since your dad has one. the 240z weighs 1000lbs less so I imagine it would probably see at least upper 30s for hwy mpg.

As a guy who daily drives cammed out 4-bangers, let me tell you, it is not a relaxing or pleasant driving experience around town. And while the loping at idle is cool at first, the novelty wears off real fast, especially when there is a squad car next to you at a traffic light. A v8 would have definitely been more drivable and not much less powerful.

Are you missing the reason WHY he avoided it?
