WTF ATT buys Tmobile

it'll be grandfathered for now i'm sure. doesn't mean they won't screw you on new phones or something in the future.

tmo customers are going to lose out on this... no way around it. :(

If you don't live near a big enough city, you won't. The new towers will rock. Everything else will suck tho.

I don't understand how they are slowing combining all the cell companies back into 1 company after they went through all of the trouble of breaking apart all of the Bells in the 80s.

Congressional lobbying.

Because Monopolies are no longer the enemy, they are the goal. The United States of Walmart, coming to your corner, live and direct.

That'll make the tea party cream their jeans.

I already live in a big enough city with decent towers... Have never had service issues.

Might gain some reception in rural areas, but to be honest when I'm away from the city I don't want my cell to work. :(

I hope I can keep my plan. I've been w/ Tmobile for 7 years.

If it's anything like when Verizon took over Alltel (which sucked), then you should be able to continue on your existing plan, since the terms should continue on a monthly basis. It's only when you look to make any kind of change to the account (buy a new phone, add to the service, etc) that they will then force you to be assimilated.

Verizon's customer service has always been stellar for me :iono:

I thought so too until I checked my credit report and discovered that Verizon had been reporting my account as charged off despite my being up to date and only ever being late once due to hospitalization. I made it right the day I got home. Verizon couldn't fix it so I wound up having to dispute this through all three credit bureaus and 6 months later it finally got all straightened out. It was a huge pain in the butt and I got no apology from Verizon what-so-ever. Never again.

I read a report a few days ago that Walmart is finally acknowledging that poor customer service and long lines is starting to catch up with it and cost it sales. Dollar general type of stores where you can get in and out of fast has been growing the past few years and Walmart was trying to say the cheaper goods was the reason why those type of stores were growing faster than walmart. Of course after admitting long lines was part of the problem instead of hiring more fucking cashiers Walmart is talking about opening some smaller non-warehouse stores.

Hmm, now that's interesting. Any chance you still have a link to that?

Self checkout ftw.

This. But only if you go in with what you can carry, or a hand basket. Those bitches with 5 kids and a cart full of stuff can get the fuck in a regular line. The grocery store in Cleveland I used to go to constructed the self checkout so that a cart or a fatass couldn't fit through. And if you had more than 5 items, you got lots of death stares by people in line. Truth be told if paying with a CC, you were in and out of line paid faster that just walking to the back of the store to pick up the case of beer.
