Thread English Health > US Health

good ol' wild west, non-quality assured quackery is where it's at, isn't it?

without an institute of clinical excellence your healthcare will end up just as gerrymandered as emergency relief, oil drilling or engineering contracts.

The guy that palpates cow rectums would probably be able to handle most of my genitourinary needs.

When did I say diddly squat about anaesthetists dispensing drugs?

ANY form of Dentistry work carried out under anaesthetics are since 2007 required by law to be administered by someone with 12 years anaesthesiology experience as opposed to someone who did a pain management module as part of their degree.

Why is this hard for you? Are you that headstrong as to not accept something that's quite clearly understood by almost everyone else in your country?

Go search it on BBC News. It was a private members bill tabled after the death of 3 people in Dentists clinics within a month of each other due to improper dosing.

I don't even know why I'm responding to NME, since it's the UK and I don't really give a crap what other countries do :fly:

Exactly.

I thought she'd have grown out of her Anarchy hoody by now. Obviously not.

Change the world. Protest Iraq war. Everyones a Republican. AMERICANS!!

DO YOU WANT CHEESEBURGER?!!? DO YOU WANT PIZZA?!?!

I fail to see what the reasoning behind you spouting all this information off is for except to attempt to make you sound knowledgable and up your own asshole as usual. I work with anaesthetists, I tend to know a bit about the speciality. As I already stated if it's a surgical procedure it's done in a hospital, with an anaesthetist, so no fee is charged. When it's something in a dentists surgery (which the bulk of all things to do with dentistry are) it's not free unless you have an exemption because of welfare or the like. It's not that hard to understand that's what I was saying. Therefore dentistry is not 'free' like other healthcare, which was my original point.

Like blood out of a fucking stone.

I'm asking a genuine question to you seeing as your stance is that you shouldn't have to pay for someone else. Should people who work but are too poor to pay a health insurance premuim have to rely solely on charity? What other solutions are there?

Can Pharmaceutical companies be trusted to sufficiently test their own drugs and dosing before preparing them for market?

Not completely, but I'm okay with that.

Of course, I also avoid drugs except for those ER type situations myself, I don't typically take the painkillers I'm automatically given.

I take greater risks with non-government tested equipment and I'd say the track record is pretty good.

What Healthcare is "Free"? What the flying fuck do you think NIC is for? Even root canals require an anaesthesiologist on-site to administer hypnotics if required. Almost ALL wisdom tooth removal is now carried out at Dental units in hospitals, no longer clinics.

Oh, you WORK with them. I see. And do you work in a Dental practice? How many of your anesthetists are FGDP certified?

I sometimes go to the coffee shop. I don't know where the coffee comes from, but I like to argue with the person over the counter that it's from Colombia.

That's you.

I shouldn't be forced to pay for someone else, at least, at the federal level.

And yes, people should have to look for help, it's uncomfortable sure, but there are people willing to give.
