Ontopic There is something interesting going on in the Middle East

Of course its not. There probably isn't anything more valuable to this country than oil.

Well, other than Sheen...
I am actually excited to see how the so called Bush haters will react when this administration does the exact same thing. It is like you said it is the most important thing to us and it doesn't matter who is in power the end result will be th same.

Everyone supported invading Afghanistan going in. Everyone supported invading Iraq going in.

Everyone was pissed at the inability to get out.

Then Obama comes in... still not out. It's still bushes fault somehow.

I did read an interesting article today about how alot of the Hollywood supporters Obama had are now publicly calling him inaffective and turning against him. Many are long term hardcore Dems.

well for his few accomplishments, he's managed to spend shittons and back down on everything he said he was going to do.

still waiting for the change.

That's because they view Obama as trying to appease Republicans. He's pissed off everyone, which makes me admire him to a degree.

I must admit, I didn't get it at first. Then I read Collapse. Now I totally get it. I mean, its enough of a national security issue that Cheney went to the Supreme Court to not release the minutes of meeting on the future of oil with the execs of the Big Three (I think its three, whatever). The freaking minutes, not even transcripts. It matters more than anything.

I don't like Obama but to be fair any president that came in after Bush was going to be fucked and limited on what they could do to fix things. There is no quick fix for a bad economy, a corrupt banking system, and years of bad decisions.

There is NO fixing it. There is only a thin line they are FORCED to walk, based on centuries of bad decisions. This country is a house of cards dude.

exactly. time to let it fall and rebuild. needs less federal government, less bailing out of companies and people, more letting shit hit the fan and the market correct itself so we can get it over with and move on instead of prolonging the inevitable.

everyone knew iraq was a sham before we stepped a foot in there and afghanistan was justified

Well, the given reasons were a sham. The real reason wasn't. The crappy part of it all was:

a) We had no nation building plan at all (even tho they rarely work)
b) Rumsfeld

I don't even know what nation building is but I can see that democracy is incredibly low on the list of things those countries need.
