So within the first 4 minutes of the show, they show a DJ getting defensive with Jamie supposedly saying nothing other than a study shows where he lives is the unhealthiest city in America. You really don't think there was editing done to that where the DJ got heated more due to comments that weren't aired?

Well given that I've heard more clips from that particular DJ about Jamie's antics in that town he really is a bit of an asshole. Whilst I can appreciate why you'd get defensive about someone coming and saying that a stat says they're unhealthy (no one wnats to be called fat) it's not a personal thing to come up to someone and say 'well the stats say this so I figured I'd help out'. My city had the worst teen pregnancy rate in Europe for a while, would I be defensive and pissy if someone came to my city with a scheme to help with family planning and told us our city was the worst for teen pregnancy? No. It's just a stat.

No one likes the idiot that shows up somewhere and wants to "help" you, seriously.

oh, ok
you're being rather abrasive in multiple threads, honestly. someone's a bit high on their horse today methinks.

I'm pissy as fuck today. Still doesn't change the opinion a lot of the world has about the 'stereotypical American'. I tend not to hold this view but it's not really a surprise a lot of people don't think that highly of your populace.

You're missing the point. Shows are heavily edited. They can make it be as bad or as good as they want it to be.

Continuing on in the show....according to the show, not a single kid ate their fruit. Not a single kid drank white milk. They only ate Chicken nuggets and the sauce and threw everything else away.

Do you think all Americans are this stupid?

Nope not at all. I kept thinking while watching it of how Ape loves cooking fresh and delicious food etc.

However it doesn't change the problems apparently widespread in that school district (I'm not sure how many others abide by the same food regs). In another episode (maybe the second one?) he tries to get his own menu set up but apparently there aren't enough vegetables in it because of some BS government guideline about how much of everything a kid has to have in a meal. Sugary shit bread buns count as good carbs and greasy french fries count as 2 whole veg portions according to the government. Fresh veg didn't cut it. Fucked up.

To be fair. His programme about British school meals wasn't much different. When his healthy menu was instigated at one school, a mother set up a 'chips and chocolate through the school fence' service.
