[Contest] UFC 124 GSP vs Koscheck

Decision king GSP wins again.

Not really impressed with his performance. But he still fought ok. Didn't let Kos win a round.

I was pretty impressed by Jim Miller and Mark Bocek, two great subs.

The interesting thing about GSP not finishing fights is how he shows his opponent that over five rounds, there's nothing you can do better than him. He breaks their spirits, beats them mentally and it's awesome. If you get ko'd or subbed, you can always walk away with something to improve upon, knowing you just got caught. At least Koschek wont be able to see a replay for a few days with that jacked up eye.

Sorry but I'm very disappoint with GSP. If you can't finish a one eyed lower tier fighter than you ain't a top pound for pound fighter in my book.

Alves looked awesome. Bocek's triangle from the mount was sick! And Struve looked impressive also..

your only defending gsps boring fights because hes canadian.

it was a thorough asskicking but he shouldve been able to finish in the third yet he let his opponent go 5 rounds.

jim miller's sub was funny cause oliveria tried like 8 different subs on him in a 2 minute window and then miller just rolled into a hard kneebar.

struves sweep was perfect...

absolutely he should be able to finish.

And ODS, I don't think not finishing makes him not a top pound for pound fighter. Nobody at 170 in the world is better than GSP. I'd put Anderson Silva as #1 and GSP #2 in p4p without a doubt. I'd love to see those two fight, and think it might happen if GSP beats Shields.

I put Fedor above GSP. Probably Aldo up there with GSP also.

lol Fedor loses one fight and he's crap..

GSP has a loss on his record also.. Not a submission loss either, an ass kicking loss..

current fedor or fedor in his prime?

in his prime for sure, his recent opponents have been meh at best...

also, now kos really looks like a fraggle:

the fights fedor chooses too though are pretty weak.

GSP and Silva at least have wins against notable guys who are/were considered second best at the time they fought them...

don't get me wrong, i'm a fedor fan, just not convinced he's truly that great of a fighter.

Alves and Penn are the only note worthy wins GSP has had in my opinion.

Fitch, Kos, Hughes, Daily, and Serra are not top tier opponents. So if not facing top tier opponents is a factor against you being a top pound for pound fighter, then neither is GSP.

GSP wasn't exactly turning down fights against top tier fighters either, those were just the best his weight class had to offer in the UFC.

Fitch is by far the #2 welterweight in the world. When he beat Hughes, Hughes was the best in the world.

Name a welterweight Georges should beat to be a p4p best in the world. The only two that could possibly be top 10 at 170 are Shields, who's probably next, and maybe Nick Diaz or Paaul Daley, who lost to the guy GSP just beat.
