FYI TV Ads STFU!!!!..... Oh, thanks Congress!

maybe it's a product of growing up in missouri, but we did have firearm education in my public school. we were taught all about rifles, shotguns, handguns, bullets, how bullets worked (rimfire, centerfire, powder, bullet, etc.), how shotgun shells worked, the different shot, etc... all with the intent of if we knew how it worked, we wouldn't do something and kill ourselves with a gun accidentally.

taught us hunters safety too.
Nice, we only got that in Scouts, school was anti-anti-anti-gun.

Most planes I've been in rattle more than an 80's GM, I think it's folly to assume they are that well sealed.

Right. They don't need to be. As long as the efficiency of the compressor is greater than the rate at which air is escaping. IIRC the myth was about people getting sucked out of planes. What they did a piss poor job of was showing the effect of pressure change on breathing and lung capacity. At elevations of 37,000 feet, it's not easy to breathe without assistance from cabin pressure. There also isn't much oxygen at that level.

Sure, the shit falls from the ceiling and you put your masks on. Or are people all distracted by grabbing their pistols? Lol.

I think her point was more of a leveling the playing field. guns trump boxcutters. & if everyone is fairly equally armed and the vast majority want to takeoff, AND land, some jackass is going to get neutralized by all the other passengers if they pull any shit.

If you saw some dumbass trying to light his shoe on fire you wouldn't have to hurdle yourself over 2 rows of seats, the guy next to him can just cap his ass.

This is why I always fly with scuba gear.

Talk about overreaction. Lol open carry on planes. Multiple shots fired, cabin loses pressure -- catastrophe. I'm all for pre-2001 security.

no :tard: it would take hundreds of bullet holes in the skin of a commercial airliner to affect the cabin pressure. the planes are designed to regulate pressure, they're not air tight sealed

Yep. All you gotta do is have a round hit the window and it shatter. A hole the size of a window is what forced that Southwest jet last year to land quickly after losing pressure. Say you're at high altitude and can't readily land? You're dead. If the lack of oxygen doesn't kill you, the hypothermia probably will.

The only myth busted here is the rapid decompression/explosion.

 no

1. The material used to make airplane windows does not shatter.
2. At best it makes the plane have to make an emergency landing. Costly yes but far from dangerous.
3. So what, pilots are simply stuck at high altitude? Wtf do you think happens when there's an emergency? Traffic is cleared for them and they make a rapid descent. That's what they're trained to do. It would take hours of flying at 30k feet for hypothermia to set in because - newsflash - the pressure inside the plane is greater than outside so none of the cold air would be rushing in.

holy
fucking
shit

in conclusion

Motherfucking guns on a motherfucking plane? Y'all have lost your motherfucking minds.

Sent from my flux-capacitor 9000 using tapatalk.

that's just about as smart as arming students on campus
I could see maybe teachers but beyond that would be retarded

I disagree there. The two situations are miles apart.

why? how many shootings have their been at the schools that already allow it?

oh that's right, none.

I'm comparing arming everyone on a plane vs everyone on a campus. you're talking about people with carry permits
settle down, beavis

the argument for airplanes is identical to the argument for campus. if you have a ccw, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to carry one on a plane. holes in a plane are not a danger to anyone except the airline's bottom line. motherfucking guns on a motherfucking plane aren't going to result in shooting matches in the sky any more than they've resulted in shooting matches on college campuses where ccw is allowed or at supermarkets where ccw is allowed or at gun shows where everyone is armed to the fucking teeth

They should just hand every passenger a handgun when they get on the plane.

this says nothing about CCW flygravy and ODS. :p
it IS asking for a shootout the way he's presenting it. this is what I was comparing arming everyone on a campus to. CCW was never mentioned.
