Thread The Good Ol' "Best Countries Too Live In" List.

They are truly obnoxious people. But then most born-again Christians are.

My friend who works security at Ala Moana mall here has busted Dog's brother (the scruffy guy) for masturbating in public twice.

Surely it should be based on how countries treat the worst off in their population? If that were the case I doubt the US would be up there.

1. no it shouldn't. why should the standard for "best place to live" be at the lowest level?

2. if it were based on how countries treat the worst off we would be at the top of the list by a mile. our poor have higher standards of living than most middle in the majority of the world. our poorest people, even those living on the streets, have access to medical care, education and housing. our lowest income people are still more likely to have cable television, internet, a car and even their home than the poor of any other country in the world, including your own and the aussies.

we not only take better care of our poor but we take better care of the poor in other countries when a disaster strikes than their home governments do in the best of circumstances. when haiti shook, people given humanitarian MREs were eating better than they had in their entire lives. we give twenty billion dollars a year in foreign aid, more than any other nation and more than of them combined.

hell, we treat australia's worst off better than they do. look at ods: we took in a sorry hulk of angsty emo rage, gave him a job, house and a hot wife. that's some epic welfare right there

What does this mean? Majority of the world? India and China? I believe it only counts when compared to other westernized nations, and in that regard, you do well, but not as good as many other westernized nations.

our lowest income earners are more likely to have access to medical care, education, personal transportation, the ability to live in a house instead of an apartment and even luxury items than any other western nation. and this is while continuing to give billions to feed, clothe, heal and protect the poor in other nations

either way, basing the list on that would be retarded. instead, it's based on ideals from the perspective of people that don't like personal responsibility and would rather be babied and taken care of by their government because they know they're too weak and stupid to do it for themselves. here, we work for our happiness. people in norway feel it's owed to them.

This is no different than most westernized countries

and this is while continuing to give billions to feed, clothe, heal and protect the poor in other nations

This has no bearing on this subject.

No it's not.

Except Semper you seem to forget that if you're of the poorest minority you're treated as a second class citizen with regard to healthcare in the US. In most other westernised countries there is no difference between being poor and being well off, you get the same access to treatment and the are treated exactly the same as any other person.

Poor people are second class citizens. :fly:

We have government run healthcare, yay Medicare!

That's nice for those that want to live in Socialist societies, I however, do not.
