Ontopic What would Americans think of the French Strike?

None of it makes sense to me. They want more for less and think the government is a magical fairy with unlimited resources...?

I'm pretty sure most Americans don't have this view of the purpose of government.

as in we don't believe that it should be that way or don't believe that it is? because I'd say most of us do think government is supposed to work for us, not the other way around

i wouldn't receive near the perks from uncle sam as i'd lose from the loss of income to taxes though.

shit, i already have that problem. donate $20 for a $5 gift card... no thx.

I didn't read the whole thread.

Don't the French work less than 40 hours a week? Like WAY less?

Fuck them and their strike. Lazy bastards.

Fabulous. If only they didn't rely on their government so much and had lax gun laws I'd move there in a jiffy.

As in, most Americans don't think the government should provide everything in their lives, you guys are generally a lot more individualistic than many Europeans.

You really believe we expect the government to provide EVERYTHING in our lives?

I can kind of see your point, but those kind of people are scumbags imo.

I don't expect them to, I assume you don't.

However there are many people in Europe who do...that attitude is a lot more prevalent here than in the US.

They understand that taxes are here whether you like them or not. So why not influence how they are spent?

Better idea than a few hundred yanks showing up in sweatpants with god hats fa... i mean NOBAMA placards.
