Is giving two weeks notice to your employer still the norm is it outdated? The internet has mixed reviews...go figure.

If you have a job lined up to replace, 2 weeks is standard and reasonable. In Britain it's 4 weeks, which I think it's too long.

Yes. There is another job lined up. And even they understood giving two weeks notice (though their exact words were "do what you think you need to do")

Two weeks is standard for non-managerial positions.

A month is respectable for management and executives.

The latter just means they really want you now. However, it also shows how nice you will be to the new company should another offer come your way later.

Here's my take.

If you just quit, you lose any chance of using someone as a reference there, also any contacts to verify employment history could be fudged. You also risk showing the company that you will work for, that you don't care about people who have invested in your career. In this electronic age, your personality can be easily damaged without slander or libel because of it.

2 weeks is worth using.

This is for my roommate. Rusty (my roommate) is moving to Ft. Lauderdale and working for a propane company there. This is the same company that called him when he was on vacation to offer him the job but he didn't get the message until he returned (13 days later) and they had already hired someone else. Yesterday they called out of the blue to offer it to him again. WTF! I thought it was suppose to be hard for people to find work?

So you're going to need a new roommate? When do I move in?

Just remember G-Force, or G-F is short for "Gorgeous Fuck", the guy in Tampa. G-Shock is a type of watch, worn by the watch fan that lives in Dallas.

WOW! I don't even know which thread to respond to.

Yes, I will need a roommate.
No, you can't have the master bedroom.
Yes, I'm the guy in Tampa.
Yes, this is Mikey's old room but I exorcised the demons after he left.
And who is the other G-guy?
