Halp Should I take this offer?

why the fuck would you get taxed on it before it's applied to the mortgage

GOD FUCK THE GOVERNMENT AND EVERY SINGLE MOTHERFUCKER PROPPING IT UP

Who takes the first offer on a property, especially when it's 16% < asking price.

Dude, you're totally not getting it. Stop thinking about when YOU just bought a place. This situation is totally different.

Are you suggesting he possibly scare off these buyers IN THIS MARKET, so that he can make an extra $5k? And if he has to pay the mortgage for 5 months, is it worth it? Worth all the hassle? NO. Certainly not for 5 fucking K

Because technically, even though I will never see it and it won't be on my W2, it is the concept of the company paying off a property of mine through a roundabout way. Apparently that's income and taxable.

so what'd they say? and why is your company only supplying 75%? did they mention the 100% just to be dicks about it?

75% and it will be taxed prior to getting paid against the mortgage.

And yes they are dicks.

I had a similar problem when I moved back from Cincinnati and ended up selling for a grand less than what I'd paid to have it built. I was pretty steamed about it for a while, but when you consider that I was able to pay off the loans and the line of credit I opened against my house in Maryland to pay for the house in Ohio it's not so bad. I think I might have even pocket a couple hundred bucks.

So in short: take the deal. Breaking even counts as a win in this case.

Well the relocation agency came back with the numbers. If the fiasco finishes up (the father wants to get involved in the sale, so they pulled the offer out, temporarily) I still owe over $6000 loss on the sale that has to come from my pocket.

Fucking Cleveland.

Still better than $74,000
