How the hell can they do that?

In 1996 we bought a business together, and among all of the papers I signed, I signed a personal guarantee with this vendor.

When we divorced, he got the business and I got a court order stating I was to be held "harmless" of any debt incurred after such and such date, in 1999.

Well, that court order doesn't void the personal guarantee, apparently, so several years later, he ditches out on the business and just doesn't pay people, they cant' find him but they find me, so they come after me, and drop the suit against him.

I couldn't even find him. Rat bastard.

Oh, I see.

That blows. Personal guarntee's can be a mother fucker.

If you have the money after all this you should hire a PI to find him and then sue his ass off. If only to get his wages garnished or something.

My best friend is a detective with our local police department, he couldn't find him. I don't really think my ex has held a real job since the business, mostly just doing odd jobs for cash and stuff, no residence (last i heard he lived with his sister) he's really into AA and fixated on being an addict.

Ryan and I have discussed it a lot (he knew my ex, we met him at the same time) and we agree that it's just best to let it go, that's the past and now it's all done, we just move forward and be grateful for the blessings we've received, and live a good life, I guess.

Two weeks ago! We have tile now inside too:

This is through the window next to the front door looking into our foyer, the stairs are on the left, the powder room is on the right, and directly ahead is the kitchen area which goes out to our backyard.

I love this tile, the camera made everything look orangy, but the tile is actually black with rust and green and all that, it looks like slate. I just love it.

tile floors in IL? is there a basement or slab?

either way, congrats!

Ceramic in the foyer, powder room, hallway, laundry, kitchen, and kitchen eating area. Carpet in the Living, Dining and Family rooms and upstairs.

We have a full 1200 sq ft basement with rough in plumbing for a 3rd full bath.

With all of the animals we have, we didn't think carpet was such a great idea ;) The formal living and dining rooms will be gated off to keep everyone out, the family room will only be carpeted for a short time before we put in a dark hardwood or something.

First floor, we did the fireplace with a travertine surround.

Basement, we did the full basement with the rough in plumbing.

Second floor, we did the 4th bedroom (that's going to be my brother's room) and we did the super bath in the Master... with all ceramic tile (in the bathroom)

It's a lot of space for a few people, the house is around 2400 sq ft, the basement is another 1200. The 3 of us have been living in the 1100 sq ft apartment for so long, we are going to get lost in the house, so people will have to come over a lot to help fill it up!!!

I'm still waiting for the Large Hadron Collider to rip a hole to another universe and we have a situation like in The Mist.

The book was far creepier than the movie, and the Hollywood ending really irked me something fierce.

The movie was fukn stupid.
Never read the book.

It's more like a short story. It isn't very long at all, the movie should have had no problem following it.

I'm such a retard though, I just finished one of S.K.'s recent books (from 2006) called Lisey's Story... and it made me cry. I haven't liked a SK book this much since Insomnia.

There are several alternate endings on Youtube including one based on the novella.

Really? I completely missed that.

I should check that out when I have speakers.

I didn't particularly care for the casting of the main guy either. When I read the book I thought he was more, I dunno. Rugged, hairy, sexual, powerful. Instead they cast a skinny dweeb.

Yeah, I yelled during the ending.

I was soooo pissed off.

You ever listen to the books on tape version back in the 80's that had the "3D sound"? :fly: That one wasn't half bad...

So, on the topic of SK books... what did you think of Cell?

I literally threw the book at the ending and vowed to never read another one of his books again.
