What should I do with my website?

I was thinking about a tech How-To site. With How-To's on pulling cable through your house, how to build and properly set up an HTPC and related items. Buying guides for that sort of thing.

No, I'm not planning on making money off of it.

So far I've got Joomla set up on my hosting deal, but haven't done anything with it.

Yar. It's the same questions over and over again on the other forums I post on. Simply because there aren't any total-n00b guides out there to get people started.

I wont be telling people to go out and spend $5,000 on gear. Well, unless they want too. I'd have buyers guides for multiple budget levels.

Serious though, your plan sounds good. Who knows, if it takes off some well placed ads or sponsors could pay bills. And Joomla is the shit. I use it on a couple of my sites. Just keep up on the Joomla updates. Occasionally some nasty security holes are found, and usually patched quickly, but you gotta remember to install the patches.
