(3) 24oz Hoegaarden's at
The Vortex before the show and (1) sad little 10oz. Stella Artois at the Fox.
Some show notes:
1. Our waitress had cool socks.
2. I <3 restaurants that only allow 18+.
3. The Fox doesn't have men's bathrooms, they have The Gentleman's Lounge. More places need Gentleman's Lounges.
4. Our seats were pretty good, Spange should have pics soon.
5. Feather boa girl needs to die.
6. MMJ has one hellva smog machine and a brilliant lighting designer.
7. The little blonde girl in front of us was the source of much amusement.
8. Its always awesome to see a band get so into its music.
9. You will not learn the lyrics to any songs you don't know sitting in the balcony. What to FOH soundmen have against sound over 1000Hz? Are they bitter because they can't hear it anymore?
10. Gotta love a steel pedal guitar.
11. Gotta love random dudes dressed in bear costumes dancing on stage for no real reason.
12. These guys can really put on a good show.
13. The cresendo had to be
Touch Me, I'm Going To Scream Pt.2. Simply amazing.
14. The bass and subharmonic overdriver was cranked so loud for
Highly Suspicious I think my fillings were rattling. I think this means everyone in the first 5 rows is now sterile.
15. I might have accidentally started a primal scream with several hundred people participating upon exiting the show. Long hallway + hard walls = people across the street were covering their ears and wincing. Oops.
Highly recommended show. Look for a torrent of it soon on eTree.
Bonus notes:
1. Show length was somewhere between 2:45 and 3 hours
2. I'M REALLY GLAD I'M NOT PRONE TO SEIZURES
