lol, not really. Some towns havent revalued the properties for way too long, so little old ladies with shacks on the water suddenly get raped with a property tax bill that goes form $1000 or so to more than $5000.

You get taxed higher for waterfront anywhere in the country.

Gotta love that.

In NY they at least cut property taxes for seniors and disabled folks.

The NH taxes were insane, at least my town wasn't a "donor" town.

Think they give a fuck about Maine? The state did have to sue them to get digital cable!

Who do you have for internet service in p-town?

My boss, who has TWC business, told me he got his TWC sales rep to drop the price on static IPs to $.50 a yr each instead of the $30.00 a month, due to the fees ARIN charges on IP blocks.

The state had to go and pass legislation to help the old folks out, after the fact.

Once again, brilliant planning by ET, our governor, and the shit ass state legislature.

Along with the hick shit fuck local governments.

Meanwhile, people lost their houses? Towns pull that shit in CT, to get rid of "undesireable" people.

I have GWI. It's been uber reliable. I've only had 3 outages in maybe five years of service and they've all been resolved in an hour, just some issue at their end or something. The speed is good too. It's bundles with my phone service for $83 a month.

My Dad just switched to them too after much TW bullshit including no service for a week. He's got DirecTV now too, just like me.

I think I'll be going from the 3meg/768k to the 5meg/1mb for another $5 a month shortly. I can max the download out on a torrent with no problem.

I have no idea about TWC business pricing. Havent had to deal with them in years.

Yeah I'm an independent contractor for GWI and they run a pretty tight ship from the equipment I've seen and the speeds on some of the installs I've done. I've installed a 10mbit circuit in Gardiner a few months back. That was seksi  The customer lived within spitting distance of the CO, so he could easily get 10mbit. Their Level 2/3 techs I deal with are real nice, knowledgeable people. I'd get GWI but it would cost more due to the fact they aren't in the CO I'm fed from and also it would be the same loop length as my current circuit, so it wouldn't make much sense for no speed difference.

TV wise, definitely Directv. They friggin own, except in thunderstorms.

Thats why I still have the big antenna in my attic. :fly:

But at least I know when DirecTv will have an issue. With TW, who the fuck knows, shit, they don't even know. They don't give a shit either.

edit: Come pirate me some big DSL line! I'll pull the cable! :fly:

I think being lazy has won out over doing responsible shit...I at least have to walk up the street and buy an iron so I have clothes to wear to work tomorrow :fly:

Seems like all the cable prices have gone way up recently.

I got a flyer in the mail yesterday for a "special price" on the service I have now, and the discounted price was $20 more a month than I'm already paying through that company

we cut our cable completely a couple of weeks ago. it's weird to turn it on and have that buzz yelling at me. i don't know if it's yelling at me for gutting it or reminding me that's what my brain looks like on the inside.

How close to the CO are you?

I know some people who could be persuaded :shifty:
