Mall Shooting in Omaha

I'm sure everyone's that's turned on a TV has been blasted by the news of this shooting and the interviews of the people... 8 or 9 killed (depending on which channel you watch), a few wounded, in a shooting at a store in a mall in Omaha Nebraska around 1:30ish on Wednesday afternoon. Guy was basically homeless, some lady brought him into her home, then I guess he had gotten fired from McDonald's earlier in the day and went on a shooting rampage. He killed himself before it was all over.

I really gotta say, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more. This is the first one I can think off that was off of a campus or school though... first one that middle aged soccer moms were the apparent targets. Bunch of kids probably won't have parents for Christmas...

What a suck deal. I know it's a random deal, but lately we've had more problems with random nut balls born and raised in the US than we do with the random nut balls overseas. Lets play the blame game, I say it's the liberals fault. What about you guys?
 
I blame it on religion.


Also, it's 9 total people killed, including the shooter. 8 random victims.
 
i saw it on dutch tv this morning.

no disrespect to the dead people, but im kind of desensitized to the whole 'shoot the place up' thing. it just doesnt have the same shock value it did 10 years ago.

the last mass murder that effected me was the WTC attacks.

I blame it on video games. Specifically, religious video games.

I blame it on society not allowing kids to be failures and allowing the kids to pick themselves back up. You can't mark a kid's paper in red. Heaven forbid you in a contest of any kind at the kid level. Parents, Teachers, & Schools wanting to take the easy way out by prescribing drugs instead doing the hard work of talking and dealing with their kids.
 
Since I get bitched at when I ask questions about guns I am throwing in the disclaimer of wanting to know a statistic...

Including all wars since guns were introduced is there a statistic of how many gun related deaths total? I honestly would just like to know, not for any "fuck guns" reason or because I am some kinda "anti-gun" nut. I enjoy firearms but I am really curious about that statistic

You do realize when "guns" were invented? There is no way in hell you could have statistics going back that far.
