I'm going to disagree. I think saying that those target kids is sensationalist. I think they target the same discerning young adults who also like to go out to happy hours and drink varieties of flavored cocktails with friends. People who enjoy options. I don't see little kids outside of bars begging for Mai Tais or Royal Fucks.

Have you ever smoked a bunch of cigarettes and then gone for a jog? They encourage you to inhale like 3 times as much oxygen as normal to keep going. You need oxygen to live. Therefore smoking is beneficial.

First of all trans fats do occur naturally though I understand they're currently used just to save money in preparation of processed foods. If I want to eat a fucking cheeseburger made with 90% trans fats that should be my right. I don't care if it has no nutritional value nor do I care what other people's reasons are for not liking it. My fucking choice.

The whole country is fat due to the collective laziness of America, not just the food. The strain on the health care system is due to insurance companies that we willingly patronize allowing diseases stemming from unhealthy diets to be covered.

The bottom line is that no one should have the authority to decide what goes into my body. Not a fucking soul.

If there were some sort of tax on trans fat, no way in hell would it be banned, it's not about health it's about money

people have the right to smoke and drink...big business will not let those be band, ever...nor will the tons of people who use them

this is something that is a completely unnecessary health risk AND serves no real purpose...if you could get a buzz from trans fat I might be on the other side of the fence here :lol:

If it served no real purpose it wouldn't be used. It saves those companies money. Don't like it? Don't buy the food. If enough people agree with you the companies that do things like that will go out of business.

That's how a free market works. Self-regulating. People want trans fats because they like cheap big macs. Voting with one's wallet is far more important than passing feel good laws.

I think it's just useless legislation, that's all. It's wasteful of governmental resources. It's really retarded that insurance companies are getting rich, showing record profits while the average joe can't afford insurance, family doctors are going out of practice because they can't cover their malpractice insurance and we're banning trans fats.

I dont see how you cannot think tobacco companies are not targeting youth, lol. Ask 10 little kids and they probably wouldnt have a clue what a Mai Tai is. Ask them what a strawberry is they will know. It is natural when your company makes a living off of killing people to start trying to find new users. The younger the user the more chance of getting them hooked, for life. You really dont think that tobacco companies frown upon having little kids smoke do you?
