Ontopic The new car-seching thread

My POS car is broken in ways that I don't feel like fixing. It's not worth the money. So I suddenly need a new vehicle. I'm looking at hybrid SUVs. Don't care whether it is plug-in hybrid or not. I need a vehicle with lots of cargo space for family trips, a comfy interior for a tall guy, but I don't want to go full electric because there are times when my travel cannot include a long stop to recharge. Thoughts?

You really need to just go out and try stuff 🤷‍♂️

Minivans are pretty dope for space too and comfort these days too.

Our friends fucking LOVE their Prius. He's tall-ish, like 6'2". And while it doesn't seem like it, it is insanely large for hauling stuff.

Looks like 4" less of headroom, 7-8" less of legroom in the rear seat, and about 1/3 the cargo space of an average SUV. Sounds great if you don't have two kids and a ton of stuff to haul like camping gear or golf clubs and suitcases or boards or whatever. No option for a roof rack either.

Dunno, I can tell you that our friends bring a *shitload* of stuff camping. Also boards from HD. Pretty sure they fit a 65" TV in there once. Suitcases for four and four people when we all went down to Miami. The damn thing is huge.

A hatchback has infinite cargo space.
