you should check this out if you're not already using it

Greatly enhances passing USB devices to VMs, and allows you to pass remote USB devices to unraid.
The only thing I pass is the zigbee/zwave radio, so I don't think I'd have use for it.

yep. Unfortunately it seems to be a documented issue with Asus boards. Found a whole bunch of people on the unraid forums with similar symptoms. Gonna update the bios tonight, and disable fast boot
i remotely rebooted it, and it didnt come back up. Super lame.

People outside of Unraid must be using the setup of iGPU + discrete. How is it possible that it won't work?
they are, and they have this problem with asus mobos.

This is actually even without the dGPU in right now. So its something more fundamental

Its dead stable when it boots, but sometimes it wont boot.

:D once i get all setup, that is feasible

i think the old setup probably was up for 4-6 months at a time on average
I rebooted my server last night, as the kernel had updated when my debian updates had piled up from V11.2 to 11.6.

I didn't look at my uptime, but it had been a while. Interestingly, my saa7164 cards finally stopped losing sync with this one. IDK if it was the kernel update or what, but the problematic OTA channels are way better now.

^^ maybe a RAM issue. Got 2x32 of 3600 RAM and i think its not quite operating as it should without some tweaking. Ill have to dive into the settings and try to bring it stable. I dropped the speed way down and am getting much better behavior.

Have you run a memtest? :p

Ugh, I remember now why I so seldom update my PC hardware, because moving windows from one place to another is an exercise in dick pain.

Backing up my windows machine downstairs now, making a windows installer USB stick, maybe a week from now I'll have moved my fuckin' PC from an i7-4770 to the 5800x3d. My first move (just swapping the boot drive into the Ryzen) failed miserably.

I have an 8TB windows software RAID array for data and a 500GB main drive.

I could move the data array onto the backup drive on the network if I can get away with just doing a copy.
*windows software RAID array*

You never get to judge me again.
