WTF So I just dick'd my butt

I don't think that's true but maybe I'm wrong. American therapists talk a lot about community mental health centres which I think do Medicaid etc?

I do work for 2 charities for free, 1 charity for donations if sex workers want therapy then my private therapy is like $60 or whatever the exchange rate is. Not gonna be rich off it but it helps some folks I guess.
I dont suppose you'd take it's very complicated as an answer? Medicaid is almost impossible to get unless you are literally without a job or have a raft of children. I had it once and I only qualified because I was technically caring for an under 18. If you can afford rent you are pretty much out of the Medicaid game in MD, unless you have public housing and pay 1/4 rents (still on the list). They also constantly change up the rules so it's basically a full time job filling out aid forms and getting fingerprinted. Also a lot of providers wont take it because it pays less than insurance companies.

this, system is super rigged to make it as bureaucratically confusing and inefficient as possible. And that isn't an accident, if it was easy, people might actually get help and improve themselves.

Yup. Like, if you thought the DMV was a mess, you havent been to social services.

I'm not an idiot, I've seen the trap that it is, once you buy into it you'll be filling out aid forms and not looking for a job. It literally encourages people to be poor. If you have assets, or a job, you lose that last little bit holding you up. It's stupid af. The first time they told me to go to the county jail to work on a road crew I was like nope nope nope. This isn't civilized.

Got a job referred through to me taking on set therapy mainly for trainee doctors and corporate clients. I only got out of school technically 2.5weeks ago and I'm already running a therapy service and my private slots are almost full. Someone in the universe likes me. Guess soon I can refer on to friends who might need some work.

Sounds like our benefits [welfare] system. Designed to put off everyone from applying and almost impossible to get your entitlement unless you have experts helping with the application process. I'm lucky to work in places where people know how to navigate the system to get people what they're owed. I work with some disabled people who don't bother applying because the stress and scrutiny of the entire process isn't worth it when they're not desperate and in compete and utter poverty just yet. Others I've done therapy with who were actively near to committing suicide because of the stress invoked by the system. It's sick.

yeah, I think for disability benefits you can't ever have more than $2000? total in assets or you no longer qualify, so you cannot save anything away for an emergency, & if you're too disabled to work full time/regular but are capable of working SOME, you have to do a bunch of fucked up math to figure out whether it's worth it to bother or not bc you're fucked if you make too much even though the cutoff is not enough to live on

edit: I specified disability bc I'm not sure what the asset cutoff is for regular benefits but I expect it's also absymally low

It was like you couldn't have assets for TANF ("welfare"). They had a list of stuff you could have I remember you could have a computer and a car if it was worth less $5000 and "household essentials." They also make you call your relatives and ask for help. You also had to get drug tested weekly. I never made it fully onto it, Home Depot hired me like a day after I finished all the paperwork.

work was hectic yesterday

as we were 2 minutes from landing into nassau, the pilots had to execute a missed approach because ATC cleared both our jet and some other plane to land at the same time in two different directions! wtf were these people doing man?!
there would have been a collision on the runway

the climb pitch back up was intense

whaaaat?!?! that’s crazy !
like ATC gave us the clear and my pilot SAW the other aircraft and was trying to reach ATC and it took them 4 tries to get a response, our jet was gonna execute the missed approach anyway .. but like after he made the decision THEN on 4th try then ATC said “execute MA”

wtf are these ATC people doing ? they have one job

what kind of aircrafts were the ones on Las Vegas

It was a Piper and a Cessna. Like hobbyist planes, not private jets. It was also a midair collision not a runway collision. It was mentioned on NPR.

I'm also pretty sure it varies by area. Nassau is in the Bahamas right? Do you go to Mexico for healthcare?

Yes Bahamas, I didn’t hear about this midair collision. That’s terrible.

I go to Mexico for the healthcare and the tequila

Dude hundreds of aviation accidents happen every year. As a percentage it's not much, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

So we had a new hostess last weekend. Pretty cute. I think she got into an argument with the owner though because he wouldnt tip her out because she was struggling on the phone the two busiest nights of the week? Not sure if she quit or not. Also had a cook quit, nice kid, and I think the owner is refusing to give him his last paycheck because he didnt give enough notice.

Like seriously fuck small businesses. They can burn in hell. Major corporations dont pull this shit.

Someone should report them to the dept of labor. Also, you should quit. If you are going to choose to deliver food, why not go work for DoorDash or a place where you will be treated well. It's not like it's hard to go get this kind of job.

Bro, I only work there 40 hours a week now. The two co owner's, the Guatemalans are fun but they don't do anything human resources related. I mostly keep it cause I get free meals so I never have to buy groceries and the grand a week paycheck that comes in mostly cash.
