You would indeed have two distinct interfaces for management. Honestly, though, you're gonna almost never touch the AP management interface once you set it up.

that price is fine. Once you have POE, you're gonna want more POE.
BTW, whats the learning curve issue you mentioned with this? Is it CLI?

i guess your tp-link solution is good, and that once (or if) you scale out, just adding a poe switch after the router will suffice. Go with that.

It seems your router and the Omada one are pretty similar in price, but yours has POE. Seems easier to just go with that, no? I can't imagine that its *that* hard to manage.

its not.... but you dont have a ton of time, and the tplink will be fully integrated with the APs, etc. and you only need one injector right now right?

Meh, doesn't matter to me. Or are you just trying to avoid questions from me because you don't have a ton of time?

And yeah, only one AP.

If one of the vlans on your TPlink isn't Cornholio, I will be very disappointed in you.

im trying not to inject my overcomplicated methods into other peoples workflows :p If i was being my standard self, you'd have a 48 port POE+ brocade 7240 switch, with 10 SFP+, and two 40gbit uplinks, and then another dedicated box running opnsense.

How is Mikrotik at supporting their devices? I do see a lot of mention of TP-Link abandoning shit, so if they're good, I'll probably go with Mikrotik.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter too much. Once its all setup, I'm not going to have to spend a lot of time on it.

mikrotik has been around forever and will be around forever. Infinitite updates to routerOS included. No cloud or server dependencies.
