I don't snore as far as I know but can't really breathe well through my nose, and don't smell as good as I used to.

But yeah Maine has some of the highest Covid rates in the US (per Capita) right now. So dumb how we went from highest vaccinated population to highest Covid rates.
fuck, the not smelling as good stuff sucks. My sense of smell is basically non-existent these days (it wasnt good even before covid, so its not a covid thing)

I'm wondering about the cancelations of elective surgeries. I'm supposed to get my nasal cavity rotorootered sometime in March (nasal polyps getting removed, deviated septum repaired). With Covid cases skyrocketing at the hospital, I wonder if that will get paused. The ENT doctor was all gunhoe to do the surgery asap, but her assistant was like "yeah no, you are booked till March".
yeah, I don't think there's any way to predict right now how it'll be in March, I mean like most likely NOT GOOD as far as COVID goes because people are going to get together for Christmas and New Years and all, but whether any given hospital or hospital system is too overwhelmed or not is going to vary. ditto for blood supply, they're critically low nationwide right now, they'll hopefully see a bump right now with people coming out to donate in the face of this particular shortage, but blood has a limited shelf life so they'll need enough folks to keep coming out to keep supply at a decent level. I'm hoping to get back on a regular schedule with it, I got super spoiled when I lived in MD because the hospital I worked at took donations right there, so they'd just call me up so my forgetful ass never needed to remember, and I could pop over after work without even having to leave campus. I also have much better Hgb levels now that my IUD makes me not have periods, I was constantly anemic before and it was always a crapshoot whether I could donate or had to try again next week lol

taking this for seizures and now fibromyalgia
im on a low dosage so apparently it should be ok BUT i always have crazy reactions to medications so we shall see

i will most definitely keep my eye on these side effects cuz i’d rather live with the seizures and body pain than be a crazy moody machete wielding person
You're menopause age. Some of the Moody stuff is just a normal part of it and doesn't need "fixing", unless it's to the point of having bad effect on stuff like work or important relationships, etc.
The old timers called it "going through the change of life" for a reason.
It usually smooths out after you're all dried up and barren.

Think I'm gonna go have some more coffee to encourage it.
don't forget to hydrate/keep your electrolytes up, especially if it persists. if you don't have any of the fancy stuff, you can DIY with salt water and a banana, if you don't have a banana you can do salt & sugar in the water (but the sugar is key). 1/2 tsp salt, 6 tsp sugar, 1 L water is the recommended ratio.

I'll take the banana as a suppository.

j/k. We found a load of Shasta at the costco last weekend, so I've got loads of fizzy stuff with enough electrolytes to carry me through. Plus, I can feel like I'm in middle school while I drink it!

Shasta is so lower middle class. A reminder of my childhood in Los Angeles.
Yeah, I used to get the Tiki punch or lemon line shasta and a slice of Pizza Hut pepperoni for $1.25 at the snack bar on the back of Hoover Middle School's gym for lunch.

So, both of those take me straight back to 7th grade.
