Food The (not so) delicious food thread

  • 3 pounds fresh firm, jalapeno peppers, washed
  • 2 cups cider vinegar
  • 6 cups white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 3 teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

So candied is a bit of a misnomer eh, its more like a sweet pickle.

Update on candied jalapenos: They tasty. They need to sit a few more days as they're still a bit crunchy but I'm impressed.

I'm gonna make another batch without the turmeric/celery seed though. I like the flavor but it kinda pigeonholes them as a hot dog/hamburger condiment.
