oh, fuck baby monitors. Theyre universally crap compared to a smart camera. As with all things baby, double the price, half the quality

Are wifi baby monitors expensive? Hell, you can get a Wyze cam for $35. If you're uncomfortable with an IoT camera in your house, leave it unplugged until you want to use it.

Amazon product ASIN B08R59YH7W
we have a camera that I use right now for this, but I'd also have to set up a rig that would hold up the display part for me somewhere I could see it while playing.

when I'm on my computer, I set up my phone to display it & set the phone on top of one of my speakers right next to the monitor so I can quickly see any movement and figure out if she's just rolling over or if she's having a nightmare or woke up or whatever. in the basement where the big tv & xbone live, there isn't a good spot to set imy phone up where it's close enough I can see it and it's still in my line of sight so I don't have to constantly keep checking it. I probably CAN come up with some sort of system that will work for it, but it'll take some doing. I'm also hoping that we can get her sleeping in her own room soon so it isn't such a big deal, but she's still sleeping in our room and Jason is both a light sleeper and someone who can't usually get back to sleep if a good sleep has been disturbed :(

we have an Owlet cam that Krischan got for me as a baby shower gift, it gets the job done mostly OK but yeah everything we've looked into for baby cameras it seems like they're all pretty awful.

thats what motion or audio alerts are for. You dont care too much about the moving around in sleep, you care when she wakes up, gets up, or is crying.

She in a bed? or still a crib

its like #27 behind shit like Euro Trucker Simulator 2 and Farming Simulator https://store.steampowered.com/stats/
Yes. I'm aware.

It's the same sort of thing (but the opposite) when the internet sent a WW2/Vietnam? vet 10,000 Christmas cards. Someone does it, it gets clicks, and more people do it. But I'm sure you're aware of that.

People are still playing THE EVER LOVING SHIT out of it.

we have her crib mattress on the floor next to our mattress (also on the floor for now bc of this situation).

she is putting herself to sleep in her own "bed" more and more now, for a long while she'd only fall asleep with us and then I had to move her carefully once she was really out, but now most nights she snuggles for a little bit and then says "OK I'm going to go sleep in my bed now" so that's progress. part of what has been hard in making the transition is that she has a hard time staying asleep when she's sick, she coughs herself awake and/or has nightmares, and she's just been constantly sick 🙃

I havent read any of the high republic novels yet to know if the era is interesting. A bunch of the legends books delve into that era, but i understand thats all over ridden post-legends-execution
