Ontopic The new car-seching thread

It was a good lead-on hips. You win. There are reasons to change a single plug - you are working on something, wrench slips and wacks a plug. "hmm, should I trust it or replace it?" Or the one bad cylinder that keeps fouling a plug . . .
You're still a cheap bastard 😬
You got the cheap bastard part right.
Ya #2 keeps fouling them. I figured out why.
Should really get the fittings and things to do a proper leakdown test but now I don't have to so hey that's less shit to buy.
Thing has been a good truck but it's gotta have 350k or better on it now (it stopped counting years ago).
Time for a mid-life makeover. Little nip-n-tuck. And a daddy stitch or two.

Replaced my injectors yesterday. Wife interrupted me in the middle of it and I forgot to tighten the fuel rail. Started it and everything was fine, took it for a quick test drive and I noticed a loss in power and smelled raw gas.
No fire, happily, but I'm unhappy with the amount that I was able to get the fuel rail back on. Now I have to figure out if I want to try and pry the fuel rail on more or if I will be ok tightening the bolts down.

@Jehannum

Should I get an '06 G35, Manual, $4k, 164k?
A 164k VQ35 is a bomb.

If you're confident you can handle rebuilding one, go for it. Make sure you check the compression and oil pressure. There's a set of oil passages behind the timing cover sealed with paper gaskets that will go bad and cause the oil pressure to drop dangerously.

Fucking idiot, I am.

I need to have a proper version control system for the tunes for my 300ZX. I rolled back to v.19 (which was right about when I started tweaking around the dying fuel injector), and ran with it, not realizing that there was a version between 19 and 20 where I cranked the dwell from 1.5ms to 3.0ms when I swapped to the VW ignition coils and just didn't save it off.

So I kept wondering why it was misfiring on random cylinders, thinking I had a vacuum leak (I don't, it makes 19 in-Hg of vacuum) or the fuckin' injectors were getting dicky again, then it came to me last night.

Need to make some scaled down little red wagon looking sideboards out of some sticks of wood trim and mount them just outside of the stock roof rails.
I saw someone with elves legs sticking out of their car trunk yesterday. Jehannum could have something that looks like a handle that hangs out the back. Could make a great PHotoshop - 'Giant Pulling Toy Car" Pump Jeh to about 3 times the size of the car for it. ;)

Whelp!! Buying me a 2013 Ford Transit Connect "low roof" van tomorrow or Tuesday. 74k miles. Super clean - was owned by Allstate and it was a mobile office. Security screens and tinted windows. Custom carpet and passenger's captain's chair that goes 180 to quickly access the back. Built in inverter system with 5kw(the FUCK!) of max and a big storage battery. A deluxe hands-free speaker & Bluetooth setup and a hydraulic "2 finger roof rack" for 2 ladders. The rack would be cool but I'll sell it -they have the kit for plugging the holes. All service records and some 100k end2end warranty - but you know how that shit goes  Towing receiver and proper tranny cooler. White with grey interior and burgundy carpet for the office area and door panels(post factory). Oh - $13.5 k

That's a nice van, Eddie. Super cool.

Every once in a while I'll think of getting just a plain, empty cargo van and doing the inside how I want. Mostly livable at least shorter term but things like bed, desktop, etc. that fold up against the walls to still be able to make big open cargo space when you need it.
Generator, propane, battery bank & rooftop solar all self contained, separate from the vehicles built in systems.
Couple tricks to make theft at least a little more difficult, etc.
And of course buttons and switches that say things like smoke screen, oil slick, and headlights that flip down to expose the machine guns.
All totally normal looking from the exterior.
Maybe paint a logo on there: Hips Logistics, Transportation & Mobile Vasectomy Service.
